Day 01 :(WED) DEPART DELHI

Welcome on board at Delhi with the ceremonial greetings at the Safdarjung station at 21:00 hrs with traditional garlanding.
After check in, you would be escorted to the respective cabins. Feel the difference of the World in the moving Palace which empowers luxury and tradition hand to hand.

Day 02 :(THU) ARRIVAL SAWAI MADHOPUR SAWAI MADHOPUR - UDAIPUR

Early morning proceed for safari at Ranthambore National Park. Ranthambore is most famous for its large tiger population. As tourism in the park increased, so did the population of neighboring villages. This lead to increasing amounts of fatal human-tiger interactions and poaching. The Indian Government started Project Tiger in 1972 with an allotted area of 60 m2. It was later expanded to become what is now called, the Ranthambore National Park. Besides tigers, the reserve has thriving bird population with more than 270 different species of birds here.
In 2005, there were 26 tigers living in Ranthambore. This was significantly lower than the recorded tiger population of the reserve in 1982, which then stood at 44. In 2008, more than 14 tiger cubs were recorded. This was largely attributed to sustained efforts by forest officials to curb poaching. Villagers in the region were being given incentives to stay out of the park and surveillance cameras were also fitted across the reserve. The Indian government also committed US$153 million for the efforts. These efforts have been successful with Ranthambore having enough tigers to participate in the Sariska Tiger Reserve relocation efforts.

Day 01 :Afternoon : SUN : DELHI Depart

Self Report at Safderjung Railway Station (Near Motibagh Flyover) by 4 p.m. After Check-in formalities, & traditional welcome, be escorted respective saloons & train departs by 5 p.m. Dinner on board

Day 02 :MON : JODHPUR : Heart of Rajputana

Morning 0915 a.m. train arrives at Jodhpur Railway Station After breakfast board AC Buses for drive up a meandering hill road to reach 16th century built Mehrangarh Fort Palace, pride of Rathore Rajputs, with huge gateways & museum housing unique collection of medieval arms & elephant back palanquins. Nearby are located Royal Cenotaphs, built in white marble in last part of 19th Century. Also visit Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the largest private residences In the world, part of which is now operating as a luxury spa resort. After lunch in a 5 star Hotel, return to the station by 330 p.m. to board the train & depart. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner on board.

Day 03 :TUE Morning : UDAIPUR: City of Lakes

Train arrives at Udaipur Railway station by 7 a.m. Post early breakfast, board AC Buses by 830 a.m. to visit City Palace, built in flamboyant style by Sisodia Rajput clan over 16th & 17th century Enjoy boat ride in Lake Pichola, famous for the ultra luxury Lake Palace Hotel, built atop a small island in the lake After lunch in a 5 star Hotel return to the train by 2.15 p.m. & depart from Udaipur

Day 03 :TUE Evening : CHITAURGARH Hill fort

On arrival at Chittaurgarh Railway station by 1630 hrs; Board AC Buses for ride through narrow road to reach the Hill Fort of Chittor, spread over a massive Plateau. Inhabited from 8th Century to early 16th century, the ruins of this fort still bear testimony to the long & hard fought battles In the evening enjoy Sound & light show in the Fort premises to relive its romantic history. Return to the train by 8 p.m. & depart. Dinner on board

Day 04 :WED Morning : RANTHAMBHORE Jungles

Early morning 6 a.m. board 15 seater Canter Trailers from Sawai Madhopur Railway station for 2.5 hrs safari to jungles of Ranthambhore. Once the private hunting preserve of Jaipur Royalty, these forests are now protected under Project Tiger & now home to number of Tigers, sloth bears, wild boar, different types of deer, pythons, owls, crocodiles besides other mammals, reptiles & birds Return to train by 915 a.m. & depart. Breakfast on board

Day 04 :WED Afternoon : JAIPUR: City of Maharajas

Train arrives at Jaipur Station by 1130 a.m. Board AC Buses for excursion to late 16th century built Amber Fort Palace, former capital of Jaipur royalty & popular with tourists for its Elephant Joy ride & Mirror Palace (Sheesh Mahal) After lunch in a boutique restaurant in the fort palace premise, drive back to 18th century built Pink City Palace complex with its amazing Sun Dial Observatory Return to train for brief rest & change. Proceed by 730 p.m. for cultural program followed by dinner at a 5 Star Hotel Again return to the train by 930 p.m. & depart

Day 05 :THURS : KHAJURAHO : Kama sutra temples

Train reaches Khajuraho railway station by 10 a.m. The temples of Khajuraho were built over period of 200 years since mid 10th century & later lost to civilization for over 800 years, perhaps the only reason This display of erotica in stone sculpture survived the conservative Muslim rulers & invading hordes during medieval era. Morning visit the western group of temples & afternoon visit southern group of temples. Lunch in 5 Star Hotel Return to train by 5 p.m. & depart

Day 06 :FRI : VARANASI & SARNATH

Early morning 6 a.m. board AC Buses from Varanasi railway station to reach river banks to experience boat ride in Holy Ganges & view traditional bathing Rituals of the Hindus. Return to the train by 9 a.m. for breakfast. By 10 a.m., again board AC Buses for excursion to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon more than 2500 years ago. Drive back to Varanasi 5 star Hotel for lunch & return to the train by 230 p.m. After brief rest, proceed to visit local market in this ancient pilgrimage town, and again visit the Ghats of Holy Ganges to view evening lamp immersion ceremony Return to the Train station by 8 p.m. & train departs. Dinner on board

Day 07 :SAT : AGRA : City of Taj Mahal

On arrival of Train at Agra Cant Railway Station by 10 a.m., board AC Buses for day long tour of Agra town First visit the UNESCO World Heritage of Agra fort, built of Red sandstone & seat of powerful Mughal dynasty for over 150 years After lunch in 5 Star Hotel, visit one of seven wonders of modern world-the Taj Mahal, often referred as poetry in white marble. Time free for shopping. Evening enjoy sound & light show in the premises of 16th century built Agra Fort Return train by 8 p.m. for dinner & depart.

Day 08 :SUN Morning : DELHI Return

Train arrives early morning 4 a.m. at Safderjung Railway Station. Check-out starts after early breakfast by 7 a.m. Bid farewell to your Saloon staff & Train Tour Manager. Tour ends

Facilities

The plush interiors of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, reflect the past Glory of Indian Maharajas. You have option to travel in Deluxe cabins with twin beds & Super deluxe cabins with Queen Size beds. Each Passenger Saloon, offers three deluxe cabins, each painted in different rich hues of Pearl, Ruby & Sapphire.
The Super Deluxe cabins are bigger & one Passenger Saloon can only accommodate two such cabins. Besides you have two dining Saloons cum Bar Lounge, each with Seating capacity of 40 persons & that offer extensive display of crystal work. Recently an Aryuvedic Spa Saloon has been added to the train. Internet is available on request.
